Precision Digital Corp. introduces the ProVu 1/8 DIN panel meter with 6-digit dual line LED display.
Precision Digital Corp. introduces a 1/8 DIN panel meter with 6-digit dual-line LED display. The ProVu process meter provides the operator with a more precise and informative view of their process for better overall control, according to the company. The large main display is complemented by a second line of display which can be configured to read user-defined engineering units, custom legends, set points, maximum/minimum PV values, and more. The second display also makes setting up and programming the ProVu more intuitive and user-friendly, according to the company. Three function keys on the front panel can be configured to acknowledge alarms, reset maximum/minimum values, disable/enable output relays, hold outputs, and more. These events can also be triggered remotely using ProVu’s digital I/O module. This capability, for example, could provide a remote means for disabling all output relays (interlock, safety).

The ProVu has expandable external output modules which allow you to add four additional relays (for a total of eight), add digital I/O, or add RS-232 or RS-422/485 serial communications at anytime. ProVu boasts a 200 mA 24 V dc transmitter power supply which is adjustable to 5 and 10 V dc. The input also can be scaled and, if needed, simply linearized by using one of three methods: ProVu’s horizontal round tank, Weirs and Flumes math functions, or ProVu’s 32-point linearizer (a free PC-based linearizer setup utility).

ProVu has numerous standard relay output functions including multiple alarm configurations for up to eight alarms, sampling, and pump alternation for up to eight pumps. On board relays are true Form C relays with fail-safe set up configurations. The meter is also tough, featuring a super rugged front panel that is virtually impenetrable in typical applications, said the company. The unit is UV resistant and rated for NEMA 4X/IP65, has a wide ambient temperature range of -40 to 65 ºC, and is cUL Listed and CE marked. The base model is priced at $289.
