Industrial Ethernet switch
-- Control Engineering, 1/1/2008
Rockwell Automation adds to its portfolio of industrial Ethernet switches and media with a line of managed switches integrated with Cisco technology. Included are features in use by IT and controls organizations that deploy standard, unmodified Ethernet, with settings optimized for use in EtherNet/IP applications. The industrial managed switch line uses the Cisco Catalyst switch architecture and feature set and adds powerful configuration tools, according to the company, featuring easy setup and comprehensive diagnostics from Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture. Switches can be configured using Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000 programming software and can automatically generate Logix tags for integrated diagnostics. They include FactoryTalk View faceplates for status monitoring and alarming. www.ab.com/networks/architectures.html Rockwell Automation
