Norwalk, CT — ABB appointed new leadership for power and low-voltage drives areas of its North American businesses, effective Feb. 15.
Greg Scheu, currently senior vice president of ABB Automation Products division in North America, will oversee ABB’s Power Products division in North America, the largest of its businesses in the region. Rick Hepperla, local business unit manager of the company’s North American low voltage drives unit in New Berlin, WI, will take over Scheu’s position at Automation Products.
The appointments were announced at the recent ABB Power World event in Jacksonville, FL. Company president and CEO, Enrique Santacana, said the moves reflected the company’s bullish outlook on the North American market. “We’ve enjoyed market-leading success over the past several years, and this region had a lot to do with that,” he said, calling the appointees “instrumental in the execution of our overall strategy focusing on energy efficiency, grid reliability, and industrial productivity. I look forward to working closely with both of them going forward.”
They report to Santacana and will also fill roles in global management teams in their divisions. Scheu, who joined ABB in 2001, will focus on strategic development and growth of Power Products in the region, targeting the need of utilities and industrial customers for reliable electricity; he will report to Bernhard Jucker in Power Products. Hepperla, who came onboard in 2003, will focus on strategic development and growth of Automation Products in the region; he report to Tom Sjoekvist in Automation Products, the company said.
