FactoryTalk View Machine Edition (ME) from Rockwell Automation is a machine-level human machine interface (HMI) that supports open and embedded operator interfaces to help enhance, monitor and control individual machines or small processes. It accesses information from local FactoryTalk servers and standard third-party OPC servers; tags need to be defined once and their values can be logged and displayed in the historical trend object.

The HMI software helps machine builders and OEMs, allowing a consistent operator interface across multiple platforms (including Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP), and it is the design and runtime environment for PanelView Plus operator interface terminals. Designed for scalability and integration between machine and supervisory levels, it has a common look and feel and reduces training time and total cost of ownership.
It offers preferred connectivity to other Rockwell Automation controllers (Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, MicroLogix, PLC-5 and SLC controllers) and supports Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, DH+, DF1, and DH-485 networks. Runtime platforms include KepServer Enterprise to support third-party programmable controllers and devices. It has a graphics editor with productivity tools and configurable input and display objects, a recipe handling system, and run-time language switching. Global object and tag parameter features can use hundreds of graphics faceplates.
