RTD instrument claims instant results

-- Control Engineering, 3/1/2008

Data Translation’s DT9872, an RTD version of the TEMPpoint Temperature Measurement Instrument product line, is a PC-based instrument that allows direct RTD measurements. It features virtually no warm-up time, according to the company. New and evolving eco-friendly applications for WIMAX, semiconductor testing, and bio-analytical products have requested such capability. Temperature values can be viewed, graphed, and exported to Excel. DT9872 offers 48, four-wire RTD inputs with Kelvin sensing to eliminate measurement errors. Users can quickly attach Platinum 100 (Pt100), Platinum 500 (Pt500), or Platinum 1000 (Pt1000) RTDs and mix and match with voltage inputs. DT9872 provides 1,000 V channel-to-channel isolation, virtually creating 48 separate instruments in one small box. TEMPpoint software is used. DT9872 for RTD inputs is priced at $7,995. www.datatranslation.com Data Translation
