Secure data recording

-- Control Engineering, 3/1/2008

Eurotherm’s T2550 PAC, an affordable control unit that provides process efficiencies and protects against controller or communications failures, provides secure data recording with dual redundancy at point of measurement. Redundant logging records data to the internal flash memory. Data can be pushed, as secure tamper-resistant historical data files, to a remote file server, using File Transfer Protocol. Up to three servers are supported for additional data security. Alternatively, data can be pulled using Eurotherm Review software, which creates a graphical representation. Data can be recorded at one-second intervals and pushed to a server as necessary, depending on archiving strategies. T2550 supports online configuration changes to a running database, allowing parameters to be added as needed. A set point programmer is being integrated into the T2550 so users can vary set points in pre-determined ways for specific periods. Used as a standalone or addition to a larger system, T2550 can be operated using analog, logic, and sequence control. www.eurotherm.com/T2550 Eurotherm
