Active harmonic filter addresses power quality

-- Control Engineering, 3/1/2008

Schneider Electric has announced the release of its newest model of the Square D AccuSine PCS Active Harmonic Filter (AHF). The AHF provides simple, effective means to mitigate harmonics, reduce process-related voltage fluctuations, and improve electrical equipment operating life and distribution system capacity. The model includes the Telemecanique Magelis XBT-G 3.8” graphical touchscreen terminal, a compact HMI terminal powerful enough to support high-end HMI applications. The highly visible 320 x 240 pixel Magelis XBT-GT touchscreen, which supports multiple languages and font sizes, integrates Ethernet and can be connected on Uni-Telway/Modbus, Modbus TCP/IP. It includes an alarm function with fault logging for better traceability. AccuSine PCS, available in 50 A, 100 A and 300 A ratings, can be configured into different capacities. www.us.squared.com, www.us.schneider-electric.com Schneider Electric
