It is possible to link EtherCAT with many other fieldbus and Ethernet networks such as Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, CANopen, Modbus-RTU, and Modbus-TCP. The gateways provide a transparent path for I/O data between any two networks and thus can interconnect PLCs from all leading PLC manufacturers; among them Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Phoenix Contact, Bosch, and Moeller.

On display will be Anybus-based automation devices from many well known manufacturers and applications such as robot controllers, drives, HMI's, and intelligent sensors based on Anybus connectivity solutions.
A free Anybus training seminar is available.
HMS has also introduced Anybus CompactCom without housing as a standard product line, to maximize integration flexibility for OEM manufacturers. As a complement to the widely used plug-in Anybus CompactCom communication modules with housing, the company will offer a complete Anybus CompactCom range of interchangeable plug-in modules also without housing. Without the plastic housing, the modules fit in smaller automation devices. Fastening kits are provided. Modules support Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus-RTU, Modbus-TCP, CANopen, CC-Link, RS-232, RS-485, USB, and Bluetooth. More versions are in development.
The company just released an Italian language version of its Website. "The new domain, www.anybus.it, together with the new HMS Italy office in Milan shows our commitment to the Italian automation market. We are providing the latest product information and news, qualified free technical support and access to industrial networking technology information, in local language, to our customers here in Italy," said Paolo Sartori, sales and marketing manager, HMS Italy. Already available in English, German, Japanese, Chinese, and French, a version in Spanish language will soon be available.
In-depth discussions are planned at the HMS booth (E64, Hall 11) related to industrial networking and Ethernet trends and developments. A specialist team will discuss individual product requirements. A key theme this year is the current and future direction of industrial Ethernet and HMS says it is at the forefront of Ethernet technology. The company has prepared a specific area on the HMS Hannover stand to explain the current situation and the future directions of industrial networking.
According to HMS CEO Nicolas Hassbjer, "We have now completed a considerable strengthening of our organization and relocation of the entire Swedish operations. This has a short-term negative effect on profitability, but gives us the right conditions for a continued growth and improved service to our customers."
