For faster startups: FKI Logistex expands system integration services

-- Control Engineering, 5/1/2008

St. Louis, MOFKI Logistex formed a “Solutions Development Group” focusing on system integration services. Previously, the company provided design, installation, and start-up services for custom automation projects, primarily from having to support their material handling products in the field.

This FKI Logistex team operates as a systems integrator and specifies, installs and commissions all FKI Logistex and third-party products and services involved in supply chain solutions, the company noted.

The company also formed a dedicated Robotics Integration Group to provide customers with focused robotic palletizing and depalletizing solutions, including system design, manufacture, programming and support.

“These moves by FKI Logistex are another example of a product vendor acknowledging that its service offerings are as much ’system integration‘ as services offered by independent system integrator members of CSIA,” noted Vance Van Doren, Control Engineering consulting editor. “Honeywell made such the same declaration when they entered the Control Engineering System Integrator of the Year competition. We clearly acknowledged that vendors can be system integrators by choosing Honeywell as one of this year’s winners.”
