IP-67-rated sensor actuator interfaces

-- Control Engineering, 8/1/2008

Weidmuller’s line of Active Sensor Actuator Interfaces (SAIs) supports Ethernet and Ethernet/IP protocols, as well as Profibus-DP, CANopen, Modbus and DeviceNet. Three configurable modules provide wiring flexibility for achieving modular and decentralized process control. Standardized M8 and M12 connectors allow quick plug-and-play installation in harsh environments for up to 16 digital I/Os. Two M12 connectors for the fieldbus connection eliminate the need for a T-connector or splitter. A module with 16 digital inputs that can be configured into 8 inputs with one diagnostic channel each, to comply with DESINA (Distributed and Standardized Installation Technology for Machine Tools and Manufacturing Systems) standards. A module with 16 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs allows each port to be configured as input or output. The third module features 4 analog inputs, 2 analog outputs and 4 digital inputs with the following functions: 0 to 20mA, 4 to 20mA, 0 to 10 V, and -10 V to +10 V. www.weidmuller.com Weidmuller
