Well, it is rocket science, afterall, and we should not be ashamed to admit it. The nation needs our best and brightest citizens working to solve the complex problems of society. While the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge is sponsored by the Department of Defense, its dual use nature will be of very direct and practial value to all of us as it is applied to cars, busses and trucks on US highways preventing accidents.

TEAM CAJUNBOT: Team CajunBot consists of 17 team members who are students and faculty at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and members of the Acadiana community. The team has participated in all three DARPA Grand Challenges. In its arsenal of technology, Team CajunBot has something no other team has - the Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise. This center is one of the most comprehensive and tightly integrated data visualization and supercomputing installations in the world serving industry, government and universities. Sponsors for CajunBot II include SICK, Ibeo, Oxford Technology Services, Hewlett-Packard, C&C Technologies, Lafayette Motors, Med Express Ambulance Service, Firefly Digital and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
