All-star cyber security Webcast
November 15, 2007
Yes, this is a shameless bit of promotion, but for something worthwhile. You should see more from us on this topic, but December 5, 11:00 am EST we are offering a free Webcast on cyber security.
The line-up of participants includes:
- Marty Edwards, Idaho National Labs
- Douglas Clifton, Invensys
- Eric Byres, Byres Security
- Thomas D. Goode, DuPont
- Todd Stauffer, Siemens
- I am your humble narrator.
With a group like this, there is always a fear that you will have five presenters basically giving the same presentation five times. However, in this case we have worked to ensure that each participant covers points related to his area of strength and with minimal overlap. Each talk should build on the others and cover a lot of material in less than an hour. I suspect this is one that people will listen to again and again to draw out all the information.
I also suggest you check out the cyber security supplement sent with the November issue of Control Engineering. It has several good articles, and a custom advertising piece from Siemens (under the headline The Risk That Cannot Be Ignored) that is quite valuable in itself. Reading that piece online adds an additional directory of security resources from a variety of sources. Take the time and look it over. It is well worth it.
