Get your wireless here
September 21, 2007
It seems like much of the discussion at the Emerson Global Users Exchange related to wireless, which I think is a reflection of larger industry trends. We've been writing a lot about it lately, and some of it is in places you may not have noticed. Here’s an easy way to get to a lot of our recent wireless content:
The Wireless Supplement in August had a major article on wireless in process applications, but there’s even more in the online version with an additional sidebar on WirelessHART.
After that supplement, we had a Webcast on wireless in process applications, which is now available for listening on demand.
We had a Daily News article on the advance of WirelessHART and the controversy surrounding its approval that has had very active online readership.
Earlier in September, we ran When will wireless be ready for control functions? in our Process and Advanced Control Monthly. This is a free monthly enewsletter that you can subscribe to.
Our other process industry newsletter, Process Automation & Sensors Monthly included another article, WirelessHART moves to its next stage. Should it? This one has had a lot of activity too.
Wireless is a hot topic, and will likely continue to be for some time, although the amount of our coverage may wax and wane along with new developments.
Watch for our cover article in the November issue on wireless instrumentation. It will be full of new information gathered at the ISA Expo in Houston in two weeks.
