Interesting resource from ABB
December 26, 2007
When you are on the Control Engineering home page next time, you'll see an ad with a wind generator that talks about an ABB Energy Quiz. The quiz is interesting in a trivia fact kind of way, but the underlying issues are worth thinking about. I think you can even have a chance to win a gift card.
One of the things you can get from the ABB Website is a place where you can download an online magazine called ABB Review. Before getting involved in the quiz thingy, I had never realized this publication exists. It's done quarterly and contains a huge amount of information. The 2/2007 edition provided the background for the quiz. Yes, it's produced entirely by ABB but it is amazingly non-proprietary and covers a fascinating variety of topics. The editorial material is really first-rate. (Of course, you should never allow it to supplant Control Engineering as first in your heart and brain.) Take a look some time.
