A Step Closer

Hmm. Discussed our proposal last week with the prime engineering consultant. The City appears interested in pursuing, however there is the issue of a pre-existing engineering contract on the phase in question with another sub-consultant that dates back prior to any of the current parties being involved in the project.
We were asked to meet in the near future with the prime consultant to detail the recommended changes we have proposed. In particular, the issue is how these might be integrated into the original design of the sub-consultant. This is required as this sub-consultant still has a C&A contract in place (ie, contract to assure specification compliance) for this portion of the project.
Checking with the sub-consultant, all new people are involved - those who originally designed the project are gone - so we at least anticipate everyone will have an open mind and be willing to seriously consider a new approach.
