    ASIMO - Bluejeangirl
ASIMO v2 by Honda Motor Company Japan.

    OUR ROBOT PARTNERS

ASIMO is Honda Motor Company Japan’s entry into the humanoid robot contest that is going on outside the USA to see which company in which country will supply the (future) worldwide demand for little mechanical men.   It is expected that these (then) very capable workers will allow civilization around the world to rise a bit higher as they take over all the dirty, dangerous, or dulljobs.   Being powered by green technology these low cost machines will not be a drain on our energy reserves and we can have as many working for us as we can afford to hire.  Estimates are that each of us will have on average 5 of these machines working for us.  I am making a list of what I want my 5 robot assistants doing here, what will you have yours do for you?  Don’t forget that you can take a couple of them to work with you.  Office work, shop work, and whatever other routines you will want should be available by then for easy downloading from the Local Office Supply Store Internet Connection - wirelessly.

These machines will have all the function and capability of (future) computers with the added fact that with sensors, arms, legs, and hands, they can interact with the real world in a way that no computer before could.  They can influence their environment by turning dials, flipping switches, picking things up, carrying things, etc.

While I consider it inevitable at some point in the distant future, that robots will take over the world, I don’t consider it necessarily a bad thing.  It just depends on whether they are our robots or someone else’s.

    FUTURE FUN
There is the potential for theater style entertainment at home by diverting  the household robots from their normal tasks for a hour or two to put on a play.  What great fun this could be.
