Next Dayton meeting agenda: ISA88 Working Draft 5, phase interface, automation object, more
Yesterday, I talked a bit about the recent Part 1 face2face meeting: ISA88 Part 1 meeting update: A stronger “Batch” standard, good for other industries, too. Here’s what’s planned for the next face2face for Part 5, September 9 through September 11 in Dayton, OH. Let me know if you’re interested in attending, or helping in some other way if you’re unable to attend in person.
Here are our Part 5 meeting goals.
1. Finish Working Draft 5
2. Finish and Deliver Phase interface
3. Finish and deliver Automation Object (AO)
4. Refine and deliver AO Command interface for Example
Consensus is that we again start our meeting at 8:30 a.m. on September 9 and finish at 6 p.m. on the 11th. If you can, please come early and leave late! If not, you’re welcome any time you can be there.
Those represented may include (but certainly are not limited to): ATR Distributing (Wonderware), CMAa, Control Engineering, Emerson, General Electric, and Rockwell Automation.
We generally setup at 7:30 a.m. and visit informally, break into workgroups after introductions and refining agenda, break for lunch at noon and dinner at 6 p.m. Discussions during meals can include standards-related and other topics. We’ll close Thursday by reviewing our work and develop a plan for sharing and publishing working draft 5 (WD5).
And we’ll try to do a few blog postings during the meeting, so those unable to attend can “look in.”
