Control Engineering 2017 Engineers' Choice Awards Finalist
EC: Allen-Bradley ArmorBlock IO-Link Master
Network Integration — I/O systems: The IP67-rated ArmorBlock IO-Link master delivers detailed diagnostics for manufacturing and operations in demanding industrial environments. This is a Control Engineering 2017 Engineers’ Choice Awards Winner.
The ArmorBlock IO-Link master gives manufacturers and machine operators access to detailed sensor diagnostics in demanding industrial environments. The device is IP67-rated for on-machine use, and it provides event and process timestamping for on-machine applications. The IO-Link master stores up to 40 timestamps of sensor events on each channel, allowing users to track changes and easily diagnose issues. Input timestamps of all other sensor data can also be sent to the controller as systems change.
The ArmorBlock IO-Link master helps end users create smarter operations without a complete overhaul. They can deploy the technology to monitor temperature and margin-indication or proximity parameters in critical processes. The technology can also target problem areas where better diagnostics are needed to remedy issues. These capabilities can help end users reduce issue-resolution time by as much as 90%, improve preventive maintenance and optimize overall system performance.
