EC: 750-881 Ethernet 2.0 Programmable Fieldbus Controller
Machine and Embedded Control - PLCs: Wago Corporation, 750-881 Ethernet 2.0 Programmable Fieldbus Controller. Wago's 750-881 Programmable Fieldbus Controller streamlines programming and commissioning via high-speed PLC program processing (1000 instructions/235 µS) and integrated dual-port Ethernet switch (no additional hubs/switches). This is a Control Engineering 2011 Engineers' Choice (EC) Award winner.
Leading Wago's new Ethernet 2.0 line, the 750-881 Programmable Fieldbus Controller (PFC) is a high-speed link between production and Enterprise Management Systems. Merging High-Performance begins with the 750-881's ability to process 1000 instructions/235 µS. A 10/100 mbit/s dual-port Ethernet switch keeps pace by responding within 1 ms, transmitting real-time information to production and business management.
Keys to the 750-881's high-frequency processing are a 32-bit CPU and 1Mbyte of program memory. Additionally, a 2MB Fast File System and Web-Based Management System supervise substantial data logging, and host web pages for efficient remote access. 750-881 also provides e-mail capability (updates/alarms) for authorized, off-site personnel.
To ensure accuracy in large-scale applications, the PFC provides an SNTP system to synchronize events across multiple controllers. The 750-881's standard CoDeSys V2 programming environment is IEC 61131 compatible and features all five programming languages. With High-Efficiency 750-881's dual-port Ethernet Switch facilitates line topology for fieldbus wiring, eliminating switches and hubs to lower project costs. An onboard DIP switch configures the last byte of IP address/assignment, expediting commissioning. For ease of integration into existing systems, 750-881 uniquely supports both EtherNet I/P and MODBUS TCP. The PFC supports up to 250 I/O modules, with access to the 400+ analog, digital and specialty modules in the Wago-I/O-SYSTEM. This allows users to simply graft on additional functionality for efficient system expansion.
The PFC is enclosed in a new slotted housing that optimizes heat dissipation while maintaining a 0 °C to +55 °C operating temperature range and IP20 rating. Certifications include UL508, cUL, GL and CE. The 750-881 fuses PFC performance with IT standards, creating a powerful networking and productivity-enhancing tool for applications ranging from process industries to discrete control.
