EC: EPCO Electric Cylinder
Motion Control: The EPCO electric cylinder is a ball screw driven actuator with integrated stepper motor (closed loop / with encoder) used in light industrial applications. This is a Control Engineering 2013 Engineers' Choice finalist.
Control Engineering
The EPCO electric cylinder and CMMO-ST stepper drive are part of the new Optimized Motion Series (OMS). This series is designed for quick and simple selection, user-friendly commissioning, and optimized performance that is cost-effective.
Design: The EPCO/CMMO-ST is the winner of two design awards, and is one of the best-designed electric cylinders on the market today.
Energy Efficiency: The transition from pneumatic cylinders to electric cylinders can produce huge energy savings that translate into decreased costs and increased productivity. Electric cylinders have proved to be an ideal replacement for pneumatic cylinders in light industrial applications.
Applications: The EPCO/CMMO-ST is ideally-suited for replacing pneumatic cylinders. It is also an excellent option for automating manual changeovers (for example, adjustable guides in woodworking machines).
Easy commissioning: Use Valve Mode to commission the CMMO-ST stepper drive to operate as a pneumatic cylinder replacement. Simply connecting directly to the Festo Web Server for up-to-date parameterization data. Use Binary Mode for additional servo drive functionality by commissioning using the Festo Configuration Tool (FCT). In this mode, it is possible to store up to 31 positioning, velocity, or force tasks in the record table on the CMMO-ST with the ability of sequencing these tasks in a very flexible manner.
Easy selection: Quickly and easily select EPCO cylinders based on required maximum speed, feed force, and stroke length. The EPCO is also included in PositioningDrives sizing tool for consideration in sizing more complicated applications.
Easy installation: The EPCO electric cylinder has a wide range of mounting accessories, making hardware selection and installation quick and easy. Safety: The CMMO-ST includes Safe Torque Off (STO), is rated for Category 3 / PL d.
Control options: The EPCO can be controlled using the CMMS-ST ServoLite Drive for control over a network or used with a CMMO-ST for simple I/O control.
