EC: WM30 Smart Power Quality and Utility Analyzer
Power - monitoring, protection – Carlo Gavazzi Inc. - WM30 Smart Power Quality and Utility Analyzer is an innovative, three-phase power analyzer offering an upgraded LCD display, capable of showing four electrical variables, an energy counter and a power demand indicator at the same time. This is a Control Engineering 2011 Engineers' Choice (EC) nominee.
The WM30 Series Smart Power and Utility Analyzer is an innovative, three-phase power analyzer offering an upgraded LCD display, capable of showing four electrical variables, an energy counter and a power demand indicator at the same time. The WM30 Series features innovative touch pad programming, which prolongs product life vs. the antiquated tactile push buttons used in Carlo Gavazzi's older products and by most other energy management/metering products available on the market.
The analyzer's modular sandwich style design provides up to 70% more behind panel depth, as the user simply snaps additional features to the back of the meter, by stacking and securing optional output/communication module(s).
The WM30 Series also offers four communication options: RS485, RS232, Ethernet and BACnet-IP, as well as the basic relay, transistor and analog outputs. The WM30's BACnet-IP communications is them most widely used protocol in the Building Automation and Control System market, which is an ASHRAE, ANSI and ISO standard protocol.
The WM30-96 is particularly recommended for utility metering, for both imported and exported energy, and provides accurate electrical parameter measurements with 0.2% accuracy (current/voltage) and basic power quality analysis, up to the 32nd harmonic. Additionally, the analyzer can be provided with digital outputs that can be utilized for pulse (proportional to the active or reactive energy) and/or alarm outputs.
