Enpirion's EN2300 family of 12 Volt DC-DC converters use PowerSoC technology for better system integration. Courtesy: EnpirionEnpirion announced the availability of the EN2300 family of fully integrated 12 Volt DC-DC converters, which are implemented with MOSFET technology to double the power density. The addition of the EN2340QI 4 Amp, EN2360QI 6 Amp, EN2390QI 9 Amp, and EN23F0QI 15 Amp devices capitalize on Enpirion’s field  PowerSoC (power-system-on-chip) technology, which integrates the controller, power MOSFETs, high frequency input capacitors, compensation network and inductor.

Enpirion’s proprietary high-speed transistor structure implemented in 0.18u LDMOS process achieves a strong Figure of Merit (FOM = Gate Charge x On-state Resistance in units of milli-ohm nano-coulombs) to operate at high frequency while reducing switching losses.

The EN2300 devices offer compact solution footprints from 4 Amp at 190mm2 to 15 Amp at 308mm2 which represents up to a sixty percent area reduction versus competing alternatives at comparable performance. The devices support an input voltage range of 4.5 to 14V and an output voltage range of 0.6 to 5V.

Case Study Database

Get more exposure for your case study by uploading it to the Control Engineering case study database, where end-users can identify relevant solutions and explore what the experts are doing to effectively implement a variety of technology and productivity related projects.

These case studies provide examples of how knowledgeable solution providers have used technology, processes and people to create effective and successful implementations in real-world situations. Case studies can be completed by filling out a simple online form where you can outline the project title, abstract, and full story in 1500 words or less; upload photos, videos and a logo.
