Level sensor company changes hands
Emerson acquires ISE Magtech to fill out its offering of liquid level measurement solutions across process industries.
Emerson announced it has acquired ISE Magtech in an effort to enable Emerson Process Management to strengthen its level measurement solutions in the oil and gas, refining, chemical, and power generation industry segments. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
ISE Magtech designs and manufactures level gages and associated equipment for use in industrial applications. "This acquisition is strategic to extending our solutions to help oil & gas, refining, chemical and power plant operators to monitor and control conditions in a wide range of applications," said Tom Moser, president of Rosemount Measurement. "ISE Magtech’s knowledge and technology combine perfectly with Rosemount technology to expand Emerson’s offering."
Rosemount guided wave radar level sensors provide measurement of fluids across a wide variety of process conditions. Emerson believes adding ISE Magtech’s magnetic level devices to its offerings creates a complete liquid measurement solution by combining a local visual indication of level with a robust transmitter to support plant operators’ needs for visual and automated system monitoring. "ISE Magtech is one of the industry’s most recognized providers of magnetic level gages and transmitters – a complement to Emerson’s end-user-voted industry leading instrumentation," added Moser.
"We are excited to join Emerson and leverage our expertise, complementary products, and our customer relationships," said Ken Mauer Jr., vice president & general manager of ISE Magtech. "Our mission, now supercharged by this union, continues to be one of providing outstanding customer service and effectively solving process plant problems to maximize production."
