Programmable RTU controller and SDK for I/O access and control
Open C platform on ioPAC 8020-C from Moxa enables streamlined installation and configuration time.
Moxa has announced the release of the ioPAC 8020-C, a C/C++ programmable RTU controller featuring a Linux/GNU platform adapted to data acquisition and condition monitoring. The company says the main advantage of the unit’s open C platform is the user-friendly software development kit (SDK), which streamlines installation and configuration time. The SDK reduces programming overhead in key areas such as I/O control and condition monitoring, SCADA and DB interoperability, and smart communication controls. The system is compliant with EN 50121-3-2, EN 50121-4, and essential sections of EN 50155, and is rated for operating temperatures of -40 to 75 °C.
“For applications involving remote operation, having a solution that is easily integrated into existing systems is a huge plus for engineers,” says Steve Frank, business development manager at Moxa Americas Inc. “The ioPAC’s Linux-based C programming platform provides systems engineers with maximum coding flexibility and makes I/O access and control easier than ever. The SDK enables them to develop programs that integrate better with localized domains and handle front-end data processing, conversion, data acquisition and alarm applications.”
The platform has two Ethernet switch ports that support daisy-chain connectivity so system integrators can easily build control networks with open Ethernet standards. Durable M12 Ethernet connectors and spring-type terminal blocks ensure reliable operation under heavy vibration conditions. Product feature include:
• Supports C/C++ programming languages
• Compliant with EN 50121-3-2, EN 50121-4 and relevant sections of EN 50155
• Built-in two-port Ethernet switch with bypass function for daisy-chain topologies
• Modular I/O configuration for versatility, flexibility and scalability, and
• Rugged and compact design for harsh environments.
