RTU for gas wellheads includes control and flow calculation functions
Well Producer from Yokogawa is a complete digital automation package for gas field well control.
Well Producer from Yokogawa is a packaged solution to automate and manage gas wells. It consists of a low-power Stardom FCN-RTU, with all the necessary control and flow computer functions pre-configured. All parameter settings can be configured by a built-in Web server and open Modbus communication allows connection to any SCADA host. Yokogawa says this makes it an ideal drop-in replacement for legacy RTUs. Users can choose either a standard configuration or customize the device to their own needs.
The Stardom FCN-RTU comes with an API21.1 compliant flow computer and gas well controller in one device. A single controller is able to configure one or two well facilities, or more together with choke valve control, separator control, plunger lift control, tank control, other equipment control, and shutdown logic. The company stresses the importance of this benefit for multi-well sites, as there are many interactions not only between the wells but also with other equipment.
Yokogawa says its solutions extend beyond the well site, and include the injection, pipeline, compressor station, and the process plant facility. Its experience for these applications can be integrated to optimize the overall operation capability and maintainability, to increase production and reduce costs safely.
