SMMA 2012 Fall Technical Conference is Nov. 6-8, 2012, in St. Louis, Mo. Pre-Conference options include three SMMA Motor & Motion College course and the Permanent Magnet Division (PMD) Meeting. During the conference, 28 table top exhibitors will showcase products and services.
More than 130 electric motor industry manufacturers and suppliers have registered to attend the SMMA 2012 Fall Technical Conference Nov. 6-8, 2012, in St. Louis, Mo. Pre-Conference options include three SMMA Motor & Motion College course and the Permanent Magnet Division (PMD) Meeting. New EMERF president
Elected at the Electric Motor Education & Research Foundation (EMERF) board meeting in May, John Calico, senior research engineer, Moog Components Group, will preside at his first EMERF board meeting, Thursday afternoon, Nov. 8, 2012, in St. Louis. The EMERF Board agenda includes financial reports, discussion about EMERF participation at the SMMA 2013 Spring Management Conference and an update on the university database. The meeting also will include updates on two projects which are currently the focus of the EMERF Pre-Competitive Electric Motor Research Consortium (PCEMRC): The Impact of Manufacturing on Lamination Losses and Electric Machine Efficiency and Efficiency/Power Density Improvements.
Communications section director Karla Takasumi, senior applications engineer, Electron Energy Corp., has been working with SMMA staff and Metschan Media in a redesign of the SMMA website. The scope of work includes graphic design, site structure, content integration and programming (including web payment set-up).
