Weldon Solutions open house, robotic demonstrations, automation integration
Weldon's July open house in Pennsylvania celebrated its 10-year partnership between the system integrator and Fanuc robotics. Live, interactive demonstrations showed how new technologies streamline automation integration for high-speed picking, machine tool load/unload, automated CNC grinding and material removal.
Weldon Solutions hosted more than 200 guests at its July 21 Open House: Automate – Innovate - Educate. Manufacturers from across the mid-Atlantic region enjoyed interactive robotic demonstrations, educational seminars, and a tour of the Weldon Solutions engineering and manufacturing center in York, PA. A barbeque luncheon was provided.
Celebrating a 10-year partnership, Weldon Solutions and Fanuc Robotics provided live demonstrations of robots performing tasks that included high-speed picking, machine tool load/unload, automated CNC grinding and material removal. The robots used the latest intelligent features, such as machine vision, line tracking and force sensing to demonstrate advanced capabilities, easing automation integration.
A large number of manufacturing professionals were joined by educators and students at educational seminars that provided training on a range of topics related to robotics and manufacturing innovation. Over 80 certificates were issued to attendees seeking Professional Development Hour (PDH) continuing education credits. Weldon Solutions president George Sipe noted, “It was gratifying to see the interest in learning more about recent developments in robotics technology by attendees of all experience levels.”
The event was capped off with a “Save Your Factory” presentation by Fanuc Robotics provided to the Manufacturer’s Association of South-Central Pennsylvania. This discussion focused on how robotic automation can help manufacturers reduce cost in their operations to remain competitive with off-shore suppliers.
Mick Estes, general manager, Fanuc Robotics Distribution Network, looks forward to a continued relationship with Weldon Solutions. “We sincerely appreciate Weldon’s innovative use of FANUC’s latest intelligent robot solutions in their many successful installations in the machine tool, food and beverage, transportation and other industrial markets,” said Estes.
