Rosslyn, VA– Electrical standards will get easier to find, says National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), since it has published an online interactive version of the 2008-09 Electrical Standards and Products Guide (ESPG) for free download. Produced by Nxtbook Media, LLC, this version of ESPG is expected to transform access of electroindustry resources on the Internet, NEMA says.
NEMA president and CEO Evan R. Gaddis said the format integrates the visual appeal of traditional media with interactive possibilities only available electronically. “Traditionally, ESPG has been the go-to source for electrical standards and product manufacturers,” Gaddis said. “Digital publishing, however, gives our members and others in the electrical manufacturing industry instant access to these resources. The electrical manufacturing industry stands at the very heart of protecting the environment while increasing access to energy efficiency.
“When the link opens, click on the bottom right to turn the pages. Or click on the Table of Contents to find what you are looking for. You can then order standards or find a manufacturer simply by clicking on the URL.”
World Standards Day was marked this month as well. Begun in October 1946, the goal of World Standards Day is to raise awareness of the importance of global standardization to the world economy and to promote its role in helping meet the needs of business, industry, government, and consumers worldwide. Additional information is available on the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) Website.
