The XTPE provides advanced electronic overload protection integrated into a traditional manual motor protector form factor. This is a Control Engineering 2013 Engineers' Choice finalist.Eaton XTPE electronic manual motor protectors provide advanced motor protection with added control and diagnostic information. Part of Eaton Lean automation solutions, XTPE manual motor protectors help panel builders and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) enhance motor control designs while reducing total costs. With XTPE devices, OEMs and panel builders can reduce installation time and material costs, while protecting the motor and providing diagnostic information that enables remote monitoring and improves system reliability.

XTPE devices communicate with the SmartWire-DTTM system, an innovative panel wiring solution that enables quick installation of control panel wiring. When connected through the SmartWire-DT system, the XTPE manual protectors provide extensive diagnostics, current values, and status messages.

The XTPE manual motor protectors have a compact and modular design and are available with a wide range of overload protection up to 65 amperes (A). Incorporating electronic control technology, XTPE devices enable more options and larger full load amperage (FLA) setting ranges. Trip units for XTPE devices are also interchangeable, providing flexibility in both design and field implementation. The combination of advanced communication capabilities and flexible trip units make the XTPE the perfect solution for complex machine applications.
