EC: SLIO Universal Remote Slice I/O System
Network Integration - I/O systems: VIPA's SLIO Remote I/O is a universal, ultra-compact, highly functional, easy to operate and maintain, scalable I/O System with an outstanding price-performance ratio. This is a Control Engineering 2013 Engineers' Choice finalist.
Control Engineering
SLIO is a powerful and flexible remote I/O system supporting many fieldbus systems. In addition to the standards such as EtherNet/IP and DeviceNet, SLIO also communicates via CANopen, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, Profibus, and Profinet. Safety-oriented applications are easily achievable with Profisafe.
All protocols can be used with the unique ETS function, which allows the user to realize precise positioning within a microsecond. Even the most difficult applications, such as the control and monitoring of stationary internal combustion engines, the precise control of paper cutters, the execution of cam switches or positioning for special applications, can now be solved easily with the new SLIO ETS modules. SLIO I/O handles short response times with fast signal processing. The cost effective SLIO system offers more than 120 modules. Those modules range from analog and digital inputs and outputs, to communication processors, coupler, potential distribution modules, power, temperature and the above mentioned interface modules.
SLIO was developed with user-friendly installation (labeling and wiring) operation (monitoring) and a compact design (0.5 in. x 4 in.) in mind. SLIO combines maximum functionality with a smart mechanical concept, a simple two-component structure, which allows for easy maintenance. With SLIO you can find one of the most compact and advanced I/O systems in the global automation market today, which is why many global manufacturers have already deployed SLIO successfully.
