Larson Electronics’ Magnalight added the HAL-JH400-120 hazardous area light fixture, which produces 36,000 lumens of light and is capable of illuminating 18,000 square feet of workspace, to its inventory. This light is designed for versatility and is allegedly capable of being quickly and securely mounted to almost any kind of ladder, railing or scaffolding. The metal halide light fixture is attached to an adjustable aluminum rail/ladder mount bracket that allows operators to easily attach the unit to ladders, handrails, catwalks and other similar structures commonly found in hazardous workspaces.

The HAL-JH400-120 bracket mounted metal halide fixture from Magnalight is weatherproof and comes with an adjustable aluminum ladder/bracket mount. The lamp housing is constructed of die cast aluminum and features a hinged, removable front-access door with two captive closure screws for easy servicing. The lens assembly includes heat/impact-resistant tempered flat door glass with a cast aluminum frame. The aluminum rail/ladder bracket can be adjusted from 26 inches to 43 inches to allow mounting to a wide variety of railings, scaffoldings or ladders. This hazardous area lighting system is U.L. rated Class 1 Division 1 and 2, Groups A,B,C,D and is suitable for use in areas where flammable petrochemical vapors are sometimes present in a non-confined, open air work space. The multi-purpose design of this fixture makes it a popular choice for industrial applications regardless of whether the locations are designated hazardous or not. The non sparking aluminum ladder bracket with adjustable J-hook bottom provides excellent mounting versatility and enables operators to securely mount the light to any rail, ladder or scaffolding. The lamp is mounted to the aluminum J bracket via an adjustable trunnion that allows the operator to adjust the lamp both vertically and horizontally through 90 degrees of tilt and 360 degrees of pivot rotation. 100 feet of SOOW abrasive and oil resistant cord with an ECPL1523 5-15P Class 1 Division 1 explosion proof straight blade plug is included for safe connection to power sources. Magnalight.com also offers added versatility with options to include a second lamp and custom configurations per special requirements.

“At Magnalight, we continue to look for ways to make hazardous location lighting more portable and the HAL-JH400-120, at under 40 pounds, is a high powered portable light source for hazardous location use,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “This is a powerful hazardous location light with both Class 1 Division 2 ratings, in a reasonably small form factor, which is ideal for mounting on scaffolds, ladders and other equipment inside hazardous areas. Most environmental company operators and offshore oil workers use these Class 1 Division 2 400W metal halide lights as back lights when cleaning.”
