The latest additions to Applimotion’s ULT Series direct drive frameless low profile motors contain special magnet configurations for high speed applications. The new motors have double insulation for high voltage applications.

New ULT frameless low-profile motors

The company says the motors remain true to ULT’s focus on ultra-thin, very low profile construction. New winding configurations allow higher speeds. Following recent customer requests, the company’s designers have changed their approach in order to reach speeds up to 3000 rpm, which are traditionally outside the range of direct drive motors.
ULT motors operate from traditional three phase trapezoidal or sinusoidal motor controllers ranging from 12–700 volts DC, 110-480 volts AC. Direct drive low profile frameless motors enable customers to reduce overall system height. Applications include scanners and thrusters as well as traditional direct drive rotary systems. The company says the motors are also excellent for precision positioning withthe use of a high resolution encoder or for continuous scanning.
