Danfoss extended the range of its Performer PSH heat pump scroll compressor, adding six smaller capacity models to the product offering. As a result, Performer PSH heat pump scroll compressors now offer a heating capacity range of 19 to 80 kW, thanks to liquid injection technology. The compressor’s 149 F saturated condensing temperature allows for safe hot sanitary water production and comfortable space heating, even with old radiator systems. Evaporating temperatures as low as -22 F mean the compressor can be applied in colder regions. Performer PSH compressors can operate year-round and need no furnace backup. Compressors in the new range require fewer system components, which reduces costs. All models achieve a compressor coefficient of performance (COP) that surpasses requirements for the Eco label (3.4), with some air to water heat pumps posting a COP of 4.11 (equivalent to 14.02 EER).
