Major providers have jumped on the bandwagon to provide connected home devices as part of ‘managed systems’
A growing number of’ smart home’ products on the market at the moment are being deployed via service providers, making home automation accessible to the mass market, beyond just the traditionally-seen high-end, luxury systems. Major providers such as ADT, Comcast, Deutsche Telekom, BT and E.On have jumped on the bandwagon to provide connected home devices as part of ‘managed systems’. These cloud-based systems enable the consumer to remotely control their home via a smartphone, tablet or web-portal, and target a range of applications including energy consumption, home security, and comfort or convenience.
