Video: The lingering effects of Stuxnet

If you think that Stuxnet has been fixed and the threat is passed, think again. The whole experience is heralding a new era of cyber threats aimed squarely at industrial control systems. That’s the message from two cyber security experts in this video as they consider the next steps for companies wanting to beef up their defenses.

Rick Kaun, director of network security solutions for Matrikon, and Shawn Gold, global solutions leader of open system services for Honeywell Process Solutions, believe there are important lessons that still need to be learned from this much-discussed incident. Companies that feel it is a one-time problem with a one-time solution need to understand that there is a new sophistication to threats, and defenses have to advance to keep pace.
