Advantech’s Wise-4000 IoT wireless I/O modules are designed to gather data from remote or difficult to hard-wire locations. The module combines data acquisition, processing, and publishing into one I/O module and is designed for a variety of industries including environmental and machine monitoring as well as smart cities. The WISE-4000 I/O modules can be used without the need of a gateway, which allows a limitless number of I/O modules can be used to gather information from any third-party sensor and connect to an existing network. The WISE-4000 has an integrated HTML5 interface and can be configured and accessed from any mobile device using a standard web browser without the need of an access point (AP).

The module’s data logger can send time-stamped information to a Dropbox account or a private cloud depending on the configuration. In the event of network failure, the WISE-4000 can buffer the devices data so nothing can be lost. It also features three levels of security—WPA2, SSL, and three levels of user login—and an interchangeable antenna for added flexibility. External DIP switches provide the ability to quickly default to the factory settings.
