EC: H-Max Series Adjustable Frequency Drive
Motion Control - Drives: The H-Max Series drive sets a new standard in efficiency and stability over traditional variable frequency control methods. This is a Control Engineering 2013 Engineers' Choice Awards Honorable Mention.
Eaton’s H-Max Series adjustable frequency drive is engineered to save energy beyond comparable control methods and lower utility bills. With an industry-leading energy control algorithm, Active Energy Control, the H-Max Series drive delivers a higher level of system efficiency than previously possible for commercial buildings. With Eaton Active Energy Control software, the H-Max drives dynamically monitor load conditions and motor feedback to determine efficient point of operation driving energy savings. Customers whose HVAC systems do not yet use adjustable frequency drives to control motors can realize energy savings up to 45% over their current control methods. HVAC systems that already incorporate adjustable frequency drive technology can realize an additional energy savings of up to 10% by switching to an H-Max drive.
Combining new technologies like advanced dc capacitors and new-generation insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), with smarter functions like a real-time clock and calendar, the H-Max Series drives are engineered to provide ultra-efficient operations. These advancements, coupled with Eaton’s patented Active Energy Control, help customers design and operate extremely energy efficient HVAC systems. Since the drives can be tuned to actual energy needs, tapering system requirements during off hours, weekends, and holidays, will allows customers to see significant cost savings.
