HMS Industrial Networks’ serial EtherNet/IP linking device allows users to connect any serial device and includes automation device with a serial RS-232/422/485 application interface in an EtherNet/IP-based network architecture while supporting protocols such as Modbus, DF1, and ASCII. The linking device can be mounted close to the connected machine and supports ODVA’s device level ring (DLR) for ring topology. Users can access serial protocol configuration through their existing software and linking devices do not affect programmable logic controller (PLC) backplane performance even when large amount of data is transferred.
