EC: ICS-G7852 Passively-Cooled Industrial Core Switch

Industrial Automation applications are now beginning to combining data, voice, and video, and consequently require extremely high performance and high reliability previously unavailable in the industrial space. The ICS-G7852 is a 52-port Gigabit/10Gb core switch with a hot-swappable modular design that makes network planning easy. The hot-swap feature lets you install up to 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports plus 4 additional 10 Gb Ethernet ports without taking down the network. The ICS-G7852 also supports Layer 3 routing functionality to facilitate deployment of applications across networks, making the switch ideal for large scale industrial networks where multiple VLANS may be required.
The ICS-G7852's 10Gb capability increases bandwidth to provide high performance and the ability to quickly transfer large amounts of video, voice, and data across a network. Additionally, all four of the 10 Gb ports can be combined via port trunking to provide an effective 40 Gb backbone between switches for the most demanding network loads. The ICS-G7852 supports Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy protocols that enable 20 ms recovery times if there is a network failure. The Turbo Chain redundancy protocol is even compatible with the popular IT standard redundancy protocols RSTP and STP.
All of the aforementioned features do not really matter without maintaining the highest level of reliability; that is why Moxa has designed this industrial switch so it operates reliably without any cooling fans, thus eliminating the risk of overheating due to fan failure. No fans means no maintenance (fan cleaning) and a much higher MTBF compared to commercial switches. Combine this with the dual isolated load balancing redundant hot-swappable power supplies that come standard and you get an extremely robust high-density high-bandwidth switch you can depend on even in the most challenging of applications.
