Basics of Ethernet

Part 8 of the Industrial Networking: Serial to Ethernet training series

A RS-232 device with a node address can be put on a RS-485 network with proper convertors. Devices in a network can run from 1200 baud to 115 kbaud, however all devices must be running at the same rate.

Long-time automation trainer Doug Bell, Interconnecting Automation, covers the basics of Industrial Networking with AutomationDirect’s Chris Harris. This video is produced by CFE Media to be noncommercial and educational. Runtime is approximately 4 minutes.
