Inverter, power supply modules for servo drives

120 kW inverter module for Acoposmulti servo drives from B&R Industrial Automation, reduces start-up current values by 60%.

01/04/2011

With the 120 kW module for Acoposmulti servo drives, B&R Industrial Automation provides inverters and power supply modules with maximum rated current values up to 165 A. The modules are offered for cold plate and feed-through mounting and also have two open slots that allow the use of various Acoposmulti plug-in cards.

B&R Industrial Automation-Inverter-ModuleThanks to integrated power factor correction (PFC), start-up current values are reportedly reduced by up to 60%, which minimizes wire cross sections and the size of the fuses or circuit breakers required. The stabilized DC bus allows motors to be operated with identical characteristics all over the world and eliminates the need for upstream transformers. B and R states the ability to implement power regeneration results in energy savings of up to 50% because brake energy is actively fed back to the mains instead of being converted to heat.

With these advantages, the 120 kW devices fit seamlessly into the modular line of Acoposmulti series products and offer machine manufacturers many possibilities for optimizing their machine design.

Highlights:

  • Wide input voltage range
  • Capable of regeneration
  • Integrated connection for temperature sensors
  • 2 slots for ACOPOSmulti plug-in modules
