One of the first things Control Engineering ( CE ) did on its new Website 10 years ago was a Weblog. We didn’t know to call it a blog, naming it “Control Engineering Forum” instead. Who knew? Now www.controleng.com is partnering with one of the largest industry communities, www.control.com , to offer links to and from its discussions, to continue to enhance and enrich the value of what CE editors offer.

And we offer a lot. The site contains more than 12,000 articles, news items, departments (with over 100 tutorials), product write-ups, and other information to help those interested in control engineering, automation, instrumentation, and manufacturing efficiency to do their jobs better.

At the launch of CE online in August 1996, research showed that among the 65% of our subscribers with Internet access, 88% went online weekly or more often to any industry site. Today, nearly 60% of www.controleng.com users polled say they go, weekly or more often, to CE online, since the April 2006 site redesign.

The Website includes print issue archives back to 1998, makes updates with other information daily or with greater frequency, and has over a million visits a year. Unique features include links to five international editions, more than a dozen email newsletters per month (average circulation 50,000), online buyer’s guide and Automation Integrator Guide with advanced features, Tech Tips, Question of the Week, industry channels, and technology encyclopedia. The Resource Center has unique research, customizable databases, tutorials, and white papers. Interactive databases shape more than 3,000 records as needed to provide detailed intelligence about salary and careers, customer satisfaction, and purchasing. Recent Webcast topics include industrial Ethernet, UL508A impact, and integrating human machine interface. Blogs, CE Implementation Chronicles, deliver weekly system integrator insights into automation projects underway, so you can share in successes and avoid the same lumps—it’s like reality TV for your career.

Renew your magazine subscription to CE online, browse industry channels, and, at www.controleng.com/ian , ponder “Head to Head” product comparison tables.

For automation, controls, instrumentation, and manufacturing efficiency, www.controleng.com continues to innovate. Editors offer comprehensive resources to help you and your organization achieve goals and make better decisions on applications, products, and technologies.
