B&R Industrial Automation APC810 industrial PC has dual cores that access a shared L2 cache with dynamic allocation, which allows a non-mult-thread-capable application running on one core to use the entire cache.

The newest generation of industrial PCs from B&R Industrial Automation adds new products to the Automation PC product line at the top of the performance range. The APC810 is based on the newest Intel Dual-Core technology, which combines two processor cores in one housing, for a performance boost over processors with only one processor core. Processor power consumption is so low that the APC810 can be operated without a fan. The new PC infrastructure provides faster connection of peripheral devices, with PCI and PCI Express slots. This new bus topology ensures very fast data throughput and can be used for graphic applications and image processing. Additionally, the APC810 supports serial ATA hard disks, which further increases performance. A gigabit Ethernet interface ensures that data from external sources also is transferred at a high rate. The Intel Dual-Core processor has a microarchitecture that can execute more commands per clock cycle. The processor saves power by switching off individual processor subsystems as needed.
