A significant European show, Embedded World , is set to run next week in Nuremberg, Germany, while in the U.S, Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Silicon Valley is gearing up for another presentation in early April in San Jose, CA.

Embedded World 2006 Exhibition and Conference, billed as the “biggest exhibition of its kind,” will take place in three halls of Nuremberg’s Exhibition Center, Feb. 14-16. Products on display span hardware (systems, modules, and components); hardware/software tools; applications software , including simulation, test/verification, and real-time operating systems; and services . The conference will feature technical sessions on numerous topics—from embedded applications and architectures to software development and wireless technologies—as well as tutorials and workshops.

Some 500 exhibitors and around 12,000 visitors are expected this year. The 2005 event drew comparable participants with 487 exhibitors and 10,863 visitors.

ESC Silicon Valley, a forum for embedded system developments and products, will be held April 3-7, 2006, in San Jose, CA—a new location for this 18th annual event. ESC combines technology classes, tutorials, and an exhibition of products.

Nearly 200 “how-to” classes for the needs of embedded system developers and engineers comprise the conference, while some 350 companies are expected to participate in the show-floor exhibition .

Event keynoter on April 4 will be Dean Kaman, inventor of the Segway human transporter.
