The 2011 European MESA International Conference takes place on the 9th and 10th of November, 2011 at the Jaarbeurs Conference Centre, Utrecht, The Netherlands. The theme of this year’s conference is "Cloudy with a Chance for Profits." Industry leaders will share real-world experiences in maximizing returns within their operations. Attendees will have the opportunity to understand from their peers how they’re managing and solving common challenges such as obsolescence, aging workforces, regulatory changes, quality, energy management and the competitive pressures to improve operations and drive profitability.

The event is targeted at decision makers who want to understand how to best leverage their current and future information system investments and to share best-practices. The agenda, which is designed to showcase real-world examples from the mouths of end-users, considers the increasing unpredictability of global economic development and the resulting shock waves which course through the supply chain.

Improving the real time visibility of the operations elements of the supply network is proving to be an increasingly attractive option for enabling a degree of control and influence over cost, quality and profitability from these shock waves. Real-time operations excellence is now within the grasp of many companies. Industry leaders at the conference will share real-world experiences in managing unpredictability within their operations.

Invited analysts and commentators will provide the latest insight into trends in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and how these are being used to help achieve operational excellence.

Visitors of the European MESA International Conference will be able to combine the sessions and networking at the conference with formal accredited training as part of the MESA Global Education Program. The certificate of MES/MOM Awareness Training will be offered on the 7th and 8th of November in Utrecht at the conference location.

This year’s event celebrates 10 years of European MESA Conferences. We have gathered a panel of attendees from the first MESA European Conference which was held in Amsterdam in 2001. The panel will look back over 10 years of MES practice, contrast them with current thinking and share future predictions for Manufacturing IT.

This year’s conference keynote speaker will be Professor Dr. André Wierdsma, who explores the psychology of the interplay between strategies, leadership activities and the effectiveness of change. The best led MES programs deliver a step-change in performance. However, few companies understand how to use the psychology of change effectively in order to secure successful outcomes. André Wierdsma is professor of Management and Organization at Nyenrode Business University in The Netherlands and at CEIBS (China Europe International Business School) in Shanghai, China. His research and publications focus on leadership, management of change, and the learning organization & self-organization.

The conference will be accompanied by a large exhibition space where MES vendors and service providers will share and present information about their offerings.

With this extended offering, the 2011 European MESA International conference will bring practical and pragmatic value for business decision-makers, IT professionals and industry analysts seeking inspiration and advice on utilizing MES to create shareholder value.
