The 2011 NFPA Conference and Expo will take place in Boston June 12 to 15. This year’s conference will offer more than 130 educational sessions, which are divided into 12 tracks based on subject matter. The expo will feature products from more than 300 participating companies.

The event will take place at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, where fire, electrical, and building safety professionals will gather to hear about real-world case studies, code updates, fire system design, technology updates, and industry research results and analysis. Due to high demand, the NFPA has expanded course offerings available in the Suppression and Detection Tracks this year.

The conference will also feature a general session in which Daniel Gilbert, a Harvard University psychology professor, will give a talk on the science of happiness. The conference will include a panel discussion on the use of antifreeze in residential sprinkler systems, a review of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, a discussion of the relationship between OSHA electrical regulations and NFPA 70E, and a presentation on strengthening the impact of fire and life safety messages on children.

This year’s conference offers more than 130 educational sessions, divided into 12 convenient tracks to help you find the sessions that best meet your professional needs. Due to high demand, we’ve expanded the offerings available in the Suppression and Detection Tracks. Attendees can also take part in the Association Technical Meeting and have a chance at shaping future codes and standards.

Continuing education credits will be awarded for most sessions and standards forums. There will also be training opportunities at pre- and post-conference seminars.
