Lasse has always been an overachiever and a leader, with design strengths that include HVAC, hydronics, process, and sustainable design for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, including many that earned U.S. Green Building Council LEED certifications. His devotion to forward thinking and creative engineering, rooted in his sincere love of architecture and desire to create a sustainable world for his son to grow up in, fuel his drive and connection with the industry. As associate principal at Interface Engineering, Lasse is a hands-on engineer and project manager dedicated to exceeding client expectations by finding unique opportunities inherent in any project. When his team of 12 runs into problems, Lasse is quick to communicate the issue and suggest solutions. Lasse’s true passion is reaching beyond convention and finding ways to become a “change agent” in the industry. His love of the MEP industry stems from his creative side. As an abstract oil and acrylic painter, he enjoys being a part of the vision and execution embodied in an integrated, innovative building. Lasse is engaged in career development, networking, and continuing education as a member of ASHRAE, ASME, SAME, Cascadia USGBC, and the Living Building Community. He volunteers his time for various Portland, Ore., neighborhood organizations involved in graffiti abatement and neighborhood cleanup efforts. Lasse spends evenings with his wife Raina and their 3-year-old son, who is the only person Lasse knows who has the same passion for building.
