In less than 5 years, Ryan Hoffman’s dedication to his career and his clients allowed him to transition from an entry-level mechanical engineer to the manager of his business unit. He leads a team of 10 staff members focusing on facility energy auditing, energy modeling, and LEED certification management among other energy-related services. Although his career with Heapy Engineering is just beginning, he has already made a positive impact on the sustainability and energy efficiency of more than 200 buildings, totaling more than 10 million sq ft. Hoffman is recognized among his peers as a people-focused leader with a strong attention to detail and a highly motivated work ethic. Putting these qualities to work outside the office, Hoffman leads the firm’s community involvement in the local Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization. He is well-versed with the LEED rating system, leading more than 40 building projects to earn LEED certification. Some of Hoffman’s notable projects include the Franklin County Courthouse, a $100 million, 325,000-sq-ft project; and Bowling Green State University’s Stroh Center, a $36 million, 140,000-sq-ft project. Both projects received LEED Gold Certification. Prior to beginning his career, Hoffman started both an auto detailing service and a DJ service while attending college full-time. He now enjoys DJing for parties or weddings in his spare time. Referred to by his friends and family as a steak connoisseur, Hoffman enjoys trying new restaurants with his wife, Caryn.
