Beyond his direct automation and electrical engineering responsibilities, Ziskind leads recruiting efforts for The Dennis Group’s Atlanta office, which has seen personnel growth of more than 60% over the past 2 years. Part of this strategy includes building relationships with more than eight colleges, universities, and trade schools. Additionally, Ziskind has built a co-operative program from the ground up, a program which now has more than 10 co-op participants performing engineering work for the company. Ziskind started in the industry as a co-op at Polyton in 2001. Six years later, he managed the company’s design group, including rolling out Autodesk’s AutoCAD Electrical throughout the organization and leading the effort to outsource modular design work. In 2010, Ziskind became a registered professional engineer in Georgia. Soon after, Ziskind led the electrical and startup effort for a major revamp of a cold-fill beverage line for a Fortune 500 company, successfully leading to the product’s market debut. In 2013, Ziskind joined a team of like-minded individuals to form the Atlanta office of The Dennis Group, with a focus in automation and packaging. Outside of work, Ziskind serves as a volunteer member of the Atlanta Track Club’s AJC Peachtree Road Race committee and is in charge of race communications—which includes recruiting volunteers, coordinating with public safety organizations, and providing medical communications coverage. Ziskind also enjoys traveling, having visited South America and hiking the Inca Trail with friends in 2009. Ziskind and his wife, Miriam, reside in Atlanta with their two sons.
