Jim Riddle, 27

Industrial Engineer, Lenze, Uxbridge, Mass.

MS Industrial Engineering, University of Illinois

Jim recently flew all the way to Iceland for a long weekend. When asked why he decided to go, he responded “I didn’t have a reason not to go.” That fearlessness and drive is part of what makes Jim such a great leader. He earned a master’s in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois. According to his coworkers, he is an asset to whichever team he is on or in charge of. When he joined the manufacturing team at Lenze, he initiated one-on-one meetings with his supervisor to discuss his professional goals. A year later, Lenze founded Learn Empower Achieve Develop (LEAD) built on the same principles as those initial meetings. As proof of his leadership success, Jim led a project team that raised overall equipment effectiveness from 33% to 65%, doubling production output, over a 9-month period. Outside of work, Jim likes to meet new people while playing in an Ultimate Frisbee League.
